Tattoo Illustration Workshop Ft. Professional Tattoo Artist, Southpaw - A4I Virtual Program
Learn to draw real tattoo art while also re-living a world-class artist’s amazing experiences tattooing over the scars of terror survivors in Israel. Hear about Southpaw’s personal journey from despair to triumph in overcoming a physical disability of his own.
How can one create a tattoo for someone who’s suffering from trauma? How can it help those with atypical bodies? Zack Hunter, aka “Southpaw” is a tattoo artist who visited Israel with Healing Ink in 2019 to tattoo over the scars of terror survivors and IDF soldiers injured in battle. Before that, he lost his right, dominant arm in a near fatal car accident. Most doctors agreed: he would no longer be able to tattoo. But, Southpaw worked incredibly hard, overcoming one obstacle to the next in order to teach himself to tattoo with his non-dominant arm, giving him a unique insight into those he was helping and garnering him the nickname akin to left-handed boxers, Southpaw.
